Sheila Braxton


 In Business for 22 Years

 

Ms. Sheila Braxton is a graduate of Kennedy King College where

she received an Associates Degree in Education Minoring in

Psychology. Ms. Braxton continued her education at Chicago State

University Majoring in Business Administration and

 Early Child Development.

Ms. Braxton is currently the Executive CEO of A Little Bit of

Heaven’s Homeless Program. She breaks down the barriers to

ensure that the guests of A Little Bit of Heaven, the Community

and the Greater Chicagoland Area is clothed, fed and

given a safe and clean environment.

For over 22 years, Ms. Braxton has dedicated her life to the Crisis

of Homelessness. Collaborating with the City of Chicago and

other Agencies, she has advocated for the prevention of

homelessness.

Because of her hard work, dedication and numerous sacrifices, Ms.

Braxton has received many acknowledgements from various non-

profit organizations, corporations, and individuals.

Ms. Sheila Braxton is the recipient of the Commitment and

Outstanding Services Award 2002 and 2003, Mitsubishi Award

for Outstanding Services in the Community in 2004, The Keepers

of the Flame Award 2010, The Most Influential Black Women

Award 2010, Extraordinary Services to Others Award 2012 and

Recognition from the 34th Ward Alderwoman Carrie Austin for her

Invaluable Service in The Community. In addition, Ms. Braxton

has received Recognition for Community Service from Ms. Teresa

Mastin PhD. Professor at DePaul University. In 2022 Greater

Chicago Food Depository recognized her and the agency as a “A

Pandemic Hero” during the Covid Crisis. In 2023 she received the

“Thea Bowman Humanitarian Award” from the Peter Claver

Ministry

Channel 26 WCIU (the U) has also interviewed Ms. Braxton along

with the Chicago Tribune recognizing her as a “Remarkable

Woman” printed in the December 23, 2013 edition.

Ms. Braxton is the Coordinator and Events Planner for all

Fundraising efforts along with the Board of Directors of A Little

Bit of Heaven. She has most recently been asked to be part of a

Book writing of the world achievements and contributions of

Women around the world.
